Practice Yoga everyday for best results. Yoga is an age-old science and an art for good health, overall wellbeing, and longevity and for leading a disease free life. What is disease?  Break up the word and you get disease. Our natural state is one of ease the lack or loss of that state is disease. Yoga helps avert this and other uncomfortable, unwarranted situations. But for this, you will have to practice Yoga everyday; think of it as brushing your teeth.

How many of you ever venture out of the house or even put anything in your mouths without first brushing and washing your teeth and mouth? Tough, but the best results are only achieved this way.

Then again, it’s not as tough as you think……….

is brushing daily, every morning a difficult task? It’s all built into the term – Practice Yoga everyday. Practice is the password. The more you practice, the easier will things get. Besides, it becomes a habit. Knowing you can’t leave home with out everyday Yoga practice, you’ll automatically go to the mat.

It helps, of course, to have a program drawn up. Things get tough when you are uncertain about what to do and have to keep groping daily. So draw up a program of Yoga poses, breathing exercises and meditative practices you are going to do.

Break up your yoga asanas in this sequence:

  • Standing poses
  • Seated poses
  • Supine poses
  • Prone poses
  • Inverted poses

You don’t have to do all everyday. You can alternate between two or three a day. Just in case is it’s one of those rainy days or Mondays, you could do just one series, standing or seated. But don’t stop.

Likewise draw up a program of breathing exercises (pranayamas) as follows:

  • Kapalabhatti
  • Anuloma-Viloma
  • Ujjayi
  • Brahmari
  • Bhastrika
  • Sitali
  • Sitkari
  • Suryabhedana
Do Kapalabhatti daily, but you could do one or more of the others daily, not necessarily all everyday.
