Is yoga is beneficial in hematospermia?

(February 25, 2013)

Hematospermia is generally a benign condition. There can be a number of reasons for this condition, starting from medication and stress to injury. It is theorized that only about 2% of all cases of hematospermia are really serious issues.

Since hematospermia may be a side effect of a medication, or at other times a result of excessive stress, simply reducing stress and improving ones physical health or consulting your doctor for a change of prescription can help alleviate the situation.

Practicing yoga to cure hematospermia is good idea. Contrary to what some people may think, prolonged practice of yoga does not cause hematospermia unless the practitioner has not followed proper techniques or has injured himself/herself. In fact, yoga actively works to both strengthen your cardiovascular health as well as your overall physical health.

Some of the poses (asanas) that help strengthen the male reproductive organs are listed below.

  • Karnapidasana (Ear Pressing Pose)
  • Godohanamudra (Milking Cow Pose)
  • Mahamudra (Great Hand Pose)
  • Pada Angusthasana (Big Toe Pose)

Other poses which help the overall cardiovascular health are as follows:

  • Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation)
  • Trikonasana (Revolved Triangle Pose)
  • Matsyasana (Fish Pose)
  • Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)
  • Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
  • Chakrasana (Wheel Pose)
  • Padhastasana (Forward Bending Pose)
