Your weight according to your height seems absolutely normal so your problem has got nothing to do with it. The reason you have a tummy is probably because you do not have a proper posture. Do you slouch your back generally or stoop while walking? You need to keep your spine straight at all times as your spine is the most important part of your body that helps to maintain your balance and posture. Once you start to keep your spine straight while you sit, stand or walk, you will immediately see the difference in your tummy. Keeping your spine straight will instantly pull in your stomach and stretch your skin and over a period of time it will start to remain that way. Besides this you can of course practice yoga to get rid of your tummy and also to keep your entire body fit and healthy.

You have mentioned that you experience pain in your stomach and that you feel it is due to gas. There are several simple ways to treat gas and indigestion problems but if the pain occurs regularly then I would suggest you visit your doctor once and get a check up done. There could be several reasons for your stomach pain other than gas and it is better to have it checked by a good doctor. In general to prevent excess gas you need to start eating small mouthfuls and chew your food well. Also remember to keep your mouth closed while chewing your food as not doing so will cause you to swallow excess air and that leads to the gas in your stomach. Besides this, also avoid talking while eating as that too causes you to swallow excess amount of air. Eat your meals in as much silence as possible. Also keep a check on the kind of foods you eat and drink. Consume simple fresh home cooked meals if possible. And avoid aerated beverages, fried and processed foods and other foods that cause gas.

There are certain yoga asanas or postures as listed below that help you to relieve excess gas and relieve the pain associated with it:
  • Vajra Asana or the Diamond or the Thunderbolt Pose – This asana or pose is to be done after your meals as it promotes digestion and prevents excess gas. You should ideally sit in this pose for around 10 minutes after you eat your food.
  • Pawana Mukta Asana or the Wind Relieving Pose – This asana or pose as the name suggests helps to relieve the excess gas from your system.
