You should make sure your mother stops eating sour food, which usually aggravates the situation. It is advisable to concentrate on eating foods that are known to cause “heat” in the body. These will help to reduce pain and swelling. Some of these include ginger, cinnamon and cloves. You can make a mixture using the above substances and add it to an equal amout of honey. This can be had with a cup of milk every night before bedtime. It will work all night and your mother will definitely experience relief in the morning. You can also make a paste mixture of honey and cinnamon powder and apply this to your mother’s kneecaps. But be careful with the duration of time you leave it on, since it may burn her skin.
