Get Relief from Acne with Homemade Remedies

Acne is one of the most common skin disorders prevalent mostly in teenagers. However, this is not to say that adults are not affected by the condition. While the exact primary cause of acne is still unknown, there are a number of factors that contribute to its development. Some studies have shown that in teenagers the condition is caused largely by the increase in androgen levels (a male sex hormone that is present in both, boys and girls) which case the sebaceous glands to enlarge and create higher volumes of sebum. As always, hereditary plays a significant role and, if any or both of your parents are affected by it, chances are that the condition will flow down the blood line and affect you in the process. While the condition is not really life threatening, it can cause quite a significant amount of damage to our face which may even turn out to be permanent and naturally irreversible. Chronic constipation is thought to be a prominent cause of acne as the improper movement of bowels does not help eliminate the waste within the body as quickly as it should. However, there is no evidence that this really happens, and the traditional wisdom linking this with an accumulation of “toxins” in the body has no scientific evidence.

Using a daily wash of unboiled milk that has been mixed with a little gram flour is known to be extremely beneficial when dealing with acne. You could also try creating a pack by boiling 50 gm of raspberry, blackberry or strawberry leaves with 1.5 liters of water for about 3 minutes. Applying this over the affected area will provide significant relief from itching skin. Having a high intake of water will help detoxify the body while also making sure that the sweat remains diluted to prevent any blockages in the pores of the skin. Another paste created by mixing some honey with cinnamon powder and applying it over the face while sleeping, before washing it off first thing in the morning will provide significant results. Lime juice is also known to be very beneficial for the skin as mixing it with some rose water, in equal portions and applying it every night to your face will help reduce the damaging effect that acne will have on your face. You should also make it a point to avoid chocolates, while indulging in a well balanced regular diet with a lot of fresh fruits and fruit juices.
