Treatment And Home Remedies

Applying a thin coat of coconut oil or almond oil on the affected areas soothes the skin. It also helps ease the dry areas. Excessive cleaning or wiping can damage the delicate tissues. Gentle care and caution is required to keep the area clean and dry at all times. Use soft cotton swabs to cleanse the area instead of perfumed or moist wipes. Avoid the use of abrasive toilet papers. Hot showers can dry the skin, and dry skin is more prone to cuts and lesions. Therefore avoid drying out the skin around the anus with hot water. Dry skin can also cause itchiness and irritation. Avoid making the skin dry and try to moisturize the skin with natural remedies such as jojoba or olive oil. The intake of three to four figs soaked overnight is considered an effective remedy to treat anal fissures. The water in which the figs were soaked should also be consumed. This helps restore healthy bowel movements thereby reducing pressure on the anal cavity.

Intake of water is important to treat anal fissures. Have eight to ten glasses of water everyday to flush toxins and ease bowel movements. Consider a high liquid diet by adding more vegetable and fruit juices to your regular diet. Vegetable and fruit juices will help provide required essential vitamins and nutrients while reducing pressure on the digestive system. Closely monitor your diet until your condition improves and avoid salty, spicy and fried snacks to help treat anal fissures. Fiber is also an important dietary source that acts as a natural laxative. Have a high fiber diet to ensure ease of bowel movements. Bananas, papayas and whole grains are ideal sources of dietary fiber.
