Yoga Definition of StressYoga definition of stress is erratic modern life style, a life of excesses both in eating and drinking habits, furthered by too many indulgences by way of pleasures of life, work, sleep, so on and so forth.
All these start in the Manomaya Kosa. This is what lies at the base of nearly all of the cases of non organic manifestations of stress.
The seed of stress lies in the Manomaya Kosa .all of the distressing experiences humankind undergoes as stress is just an emotional state. It could either be set off by a variety factors in different individuals.
Yogic sages have told us that it is better not to discuss what caused the stress. On the contrary, find out what is the state of your mind when you are stressed. They, therefore, persist in defining stress as ' an accelerated mental state.’
Yoga definition of stress: Mechanism of the systemYoga therapy postulates that the problem of long standing stresses starts with the Manomaya Kosa. It initially manifests just in the form of psychological problems. These include irritability, emotional liability, unwarranted smoking or alcohol urges, sleep disturbances, difficulty in taking decisions, so on and so forth. Over a period of time this goes on to upset the Pranayama Kosa. Then it starts to show up as any one of the digestive problems like poor appetite, indigestion, constipation, gas, so on and so forth. These are common forerunners of most psychosomatic ailments. As this continues for a couple years the problem manifests itself in the Annamaya Kosa. Here it comes as inexplicable muscular-skeletal pains either as muscle spasms, aches and pains, sprains, cramps, or inflammations. A blend of some of these imbalances sinks into a particular part of the body. This, subsequently, manifests as persistent bouts of severe or chronic musculoskeletal aches with no detectable cause.
