...back pain by performing lower back pain exercises. These exercises help warm up the muscles and dilate the blood vessels so that there is increased supply of blood to the muscles.

There are many different exercises for treatment of back pain. Due to the kind of active life we lead and the kind of lifestyle that we have, back pain can become really common. Typically, people respond to back pain by taking rest; however, it has been found that exercising is a more apt response to back pain. In almost all cases, active physical exercises help rehabilitate the spine, realign the spinal column, and alleviate pain.

Some of the physical activities that can help you treat back pain are aerobics, swimming, walking, jogging, yoga, and Pilates. These can help you keep fit while helping you to keep your back healthy. Exercise balls, which have almost become a trend, are also immensely useful in alleviating back pain, especially in the lower back. More and more health practitioners advise patients suffering from back pain to spend some time sitting on a rubber exercise ball. Sitting on such a ball helps you realign your spine. You can also try jumping up and down on the ball to increase muscle coordination. This will also improve your reflexes and prevent you from further injuring your back.

Different types of yoga can also help you to effectively deal with pain in your back. Astanga yoga, Iyengar yoga, and Bikram yoga are some of the yoga disciplines that can help. Astanga yoga, in particular, is a holistic discipline which helps you change your lifestyle so that it becomes more positive. Some of the astanga yoga poses are specifically meant to elongate and strengthen the spine. When your spine is healthy, it becomes stronger and therefore less prone to injuries. You can practice the astanga yoga primary series, which is for beginners. However, it must be remembered that astanga yoga postures should always be performed under the supervision of a trained professional, for best results.
