Balance Yoga Mat


Balance Yoga mats help you improve your balance and coordination and, subsequently, you enjoy your Yoga practices more.



Most people not balanced, and hence, we do a lot of what we do lopsidedly and irregularly. For example, a person cold be stronger on the right side but weaker on the left.



With increased stability, there are fewer imbalances, only naturally.

Should a Yoga mat have adequate stickiness?

Slip is important, because as it allows the body and limbs to "flow" or "fall into" the different yoga poses. A sticky surface helps avoid natural gliding and provides obstruction to smooth flow.



In some cases, this could turn out to be hazardous. Very often we get to hear of students who complain of a sprained neck or back. By this we do not mean to say that the Yoga mat should have a slippery surface. Rather, it should be the kind that provides enough natural grip. That too, without being artificially sticky ideally, it should be something like the natural earth.

Balance Yoga mats should work for seated and relaxation positions as well. Yoga practice would naturally also entail meditation and relaxation poses. Ideally, what is required is a Balance Yoga mat on which one can sit easily or lie down in Shavasana (Corpse pose) without feeling uncomfortable.

By and large, it has been noticed that sticky mats fail on all the above counts. They may be the cheapest things in the market. However if you wish to invest your entire Yoga practice on saving a few dollars (particularly when you really don’t need any other equipment), you’d be better off reconsidering beginning at all.

In simple words words, one’s Balance Yoga mat ought to be a 3-in-1. That is, it should be right and proper for physical positions, meditative positions as well as for relaxation poses.
