Yoga Exercises With Ball

Yoga exercises are becoming increasingly diversified.

Although yoga itself is 5000 years old, there are still new developments that are being introduced over time. One of these interesting improvements to yoga is the introduction of the stability ball. This large inflated ball ranges from 45 to 80 centimeters in diameter and it is used in several exercises to develop more stability, fitness, and concentration.

The yoga stability ball is now used by a huge number of yoga fans around the world.

There are different yoga ball exercises targeting different parts and regions of the body, starting from the feet and up to your head. For example, when you do pushups on the ball, you will find out that you need to exert more effort to balance yourself on the ball and this gives better results as opposed to traditional pushups.

Yoga teachers and physical fitness trainers are both using the stability ball to help their students get quicker results in a very short time, not to mention the fun that the ball brings to the class. The stability ball is large in size and comes in a variety of colors. So, just looking at the ball and with all the funny stuff that occurs when you are using it, ensures that you will enjoy your workout even more.

A yoga ball should be properly inflated to a certain level so that it is safe to use. It should not be over or under inflated, as this may affect the quality of the exercise and also may cause injury to the targeted muscles. When you inflate your ball you should keep the following points in mind.

You should first determine how much you are going to inflate the yoga ball. Find out the exact diameter or size of the ball from the shop or from your trainer. Then get a chair or a table and put it near a wall with the same length in between them. Inflate the ball using a ball pump until it just press on the wall and the other object. Do not inflate it more as this will harden the ball. Under inflating the ball also adversely affect your workout because the ball will be less prone to rolling, thereby reducing the difficulty of the exercise.

Apart from the ball exercises, just inflating the ball can be a good exercise. Try using a manual yoga ball pump instead of the electric pump found in most yoga studios and you will see the difference after a few classes.
