Can Yoga Help From Frequent Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, Cramps And Clotting

Regular practice of yoga poses along with controlled breathing exercise help to regain and maintain health. Women suffering from menstrual cramps, heavy bleeding, low back pain and other feminine disorder can practice the following yoga poses during menstruation which will gradually improve the above mentioned problems:
1. Paschimottanasana (The Posterior Stretch)
This stretching yoga pose supplies abundant blood to stomach, kidneys, liver, pancreas, spleen and tones them up. It is good for the uterus and ovaries and help to overcome menstrual disorder.
2. Janu Sirshasana (The Head To Knee Posture)

The above yoga poses should be practiced gently, followed by controlled breathing technique of Anuloma-Viloma (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and meditation.

- Salabhasana (The Locust Pose)

- Sarvangasana (Shoulder-stand Pose)
This is good for thyroid gland and is beneficial for those with ovary problems. The body stays supple for a long period and arrests aging process.
- Halasana (Plough Pose)
After performing the Corpse Pose, the rhythmic breathing of Bhastrika (The Bellow Pose), Kapalbhati (The Cleansing Breath) and Anuloma Viloma (Alternate Nostril Breathing) should be practiced. The combined practice of Yoga poses and Pranayama (Rhythmic Breathing technique) revives the body, regenerates different glands and creates harmony within the body and nervous system.
Yoga poses and pranayama should be practiced under the guidance of a Yoga Instructor. The above yoga poses may be practiced selectively as all the yoga poses can not be done daily.
It is also important to follow a well-balanced nutritious diet with lot of fresh vegetables, salads, whole grains and dairy products. Avoid processed food and fried stuff. Try to adhere to home-cooked food. Also it is imperative to have good sleep. A balanced lifestyle leads to physical and mental well being and subside different disorders from the system.
