Pavanamuktasana And The Seated Sun Salute Yoga Relieve From Hydrocele

What Is Hydrocele

Hydrocele is just a build-up of fluid in a testicle sac. Many young men your age are known to develop hydrocele. While most of these conditions vanish of their own accord, some of the more severe cases call for medical attention. Normally, simple surgical procedures can handle the problem.

How Does One Develop Hydrocele

It may be hard to believe, but this happens even in male babies. In the womb or soon after delivery, the child’s testicles shift from his abdominal cavity to his scrotum. Sometimes, the passage that lets this happen doesn’t shut, which results in hydrocele in baby boys. In the case of adults the cause of hydrocele still remains unknown except that there is a build-up of liquid in a testicle.

Hydrocele is not at all dangerous. The condition in fact, does not cause much suffering even in infants and since the condition is known to vanish often without any treatment doctors don’t, generally, recommend immediate operations. You will require an operation if only your hydrocele grows to an uncomfortable size.

Yoga For Hydrocele

These two positions are bound to help you very much and give you fast relief. One is Pavanamuktasana (Wind Relieving Pose) and the other is the Seated Sun Salute. We suggest you make them part of your everyday yoga routine even after you are okay.

The Seated Sun Salute

This asana (yoga pose) is done on a chair and is a part of Office yoga. It is fast and simple to do, and helps alleviate aches and pains of the day. It is especially good for your condition

  • Start by perching yourself at the edge of a chair. If it is a swivel chair or one with wheels, make it rest against a wall or your desk and lock all the wheels so that it does not move.
  • Press your legs gently together so that your feet are resting just under your knees. Join your palms in prayer position, at your chest. See that your back, neck and head are erect and shoulders relaxed. Throw the chest open.
  • Take a couple deep, relaxing breaths and get ready for the Seated Sun Salutation. With a deep inhalation raise your arms up and out from the sides. Take them as far up till they are right above your head. Your palms should be touching each other and stretching up towards the ceiling. Hold for a few seconds, then, with an exhalation bring your arms down from the sides, the way you took them up.
  • Come back to a prayer position and hold this pose also for a few breaths. Do this Seated Sun Salute 3 – 4 times then get back to work or whatever you were doing. You can also do this pose whenever you feel the need to relieve tension, relax, or take a breather.
