The Benefits of Yoga - Much deeper than you think

Let me tell you something  yoga changed my life. I joined yoga to become thinner and get better skin  and today I am so much more peaceful. Of course there have been other positive effects that visibly show  I look years younger, the stodgy middle aged look has gone, and my body is so much flexible.

Do you know most of us have never really taken a nice deep cleansing breath for a long time?  With yoga, I have learnt to, and suddenly realized that this fresh air I inhale makes me smarter and even easier to get along with, factors that I assume has got me my recent professional successes.

My friend, in my yoga class, suffered from Asthma  and today she will vow that Yoga has helped her get rid of it. “No breathlessness, just a good feeling”, is her favorite saying.

The elderly couple in my class have another saying, “Flexible joints in old age make you dance.” They will tell you that Yoga has increased lubrication of joints, ligaments and tendons  and suddenly they feel so much younger.

There are other multifold benefits that all yoga practitioners will tell you, like better circulation, and digestion. Oh yes, when you suffer from chronic constipation for a lifetime, then it makes a lot of sense.

The lady with bipolar depression actually believes that yoga has put her in a better place, and so does the teenager who once felt so low about himself.

Meditation helped all of us connect to the person inside, and when you do that, life suddenly seems a lot easier to deal with.

These are just some of the good feelings; let me tell you if you are to get into yoga  the old age “health is wealth” will take on a whole new meaning.
