Choice of correct yoga posture is of great importance. Practice of yoga, with improper techniques result in problems. They also fail to provide benefits. The attitude with which you begin the session is important. A positive attitude with a yearning to perform is necessary. A blanket, mat and pillow are useful when getting started with yoga. The pillow provides support and prevents the beginner from a fall or any kind of injury. Comfortable clothing is important for effective results. Cotton clothes, which are loose fitting proves beneficial to aide easy movement. A fruit or a glass of juice is allowed, an hour prior to practice. In general, yoga is done with an empty stomach. Otherwise, practice yoga about three to four hours after a meal. Comfortable shoes or socks are helpful for yoga. This prevents any kind of fall due to wet feet or any kind of digestive problems. A glass of warm water, fifteen minutes prior to commencement is useful. 

A number of yoga kits are available commercially, which comprises of all the essentials. A basic yoga session for a starter depends on his/her wants. A warming up session helps in activating all the muscles and joints. It helps in reminding your system, regarding the yoga practice! Warm up session helps to open up the groin, shoulder, back, spine and hips. Standing poses follow the warm up session. These poses align the body and feet.  Standing poses help in enhancement of circulation and digestion process. It is also effective for individuals, who want to lose weight.  Twists, and inverted balance poses are chosen, down the lane, as it requires more balance and poise. It requires a lot of self control and coordination of body posture. Inverted pose asanas defy gravity and requires some amount of expertise to practice. 

Basic Yoga Workout

Avoid yoga practice for long hours, especially in the beginning stage. Yoga should be done in moderation. Lifestyle modification and changes in diet help, in addition to yoga, to achieve specific results. Individuals with certain diseases, such as hypertension, cardiac diseases, and diabetes mellitus require guidance from a physician before beginning Yoga. Certain poses are not beneficial for such individuals. Always use a yoga mat for maximum results. A yoga mat is slippery, in the initial stages. It is made rough by washing with a mild detergent. This prevents any kind of injury. Any form of yoga which is painful, should be discontinued immediately. Refer to a Yoga expert in such a case.
