Womens Walking Shoe
Whether you are a man or a woman, you will need proper walking shoes, once you have made the decision to start a walking program. Wearing comfortable walking shoes that fit your feet well not only makes walking a pleasurable activity, but would also help to prevent blisters, calluses or injuries to the feet. This will help you stick to your fitness program.
Shoes for women: These days walking shoes meant especially for women have been introduced in the market. You may buy them in special fitness stores or through the internet. These women’s walking shoes may be molded to fit the feet of women which are slightly slimmer and have a different shape of the instep. Some women also have very small feet, and often have to get their sizes from the children’s section. Walking shoes meant specifically for women may help them get their accurate size in the women’s walking shoes section.
But even if you do not get special women’s walking shoes, you do not have to curtail your walking program. Any sports shoes or walking shoes available in the market is good enough, provided they have all the features needed for comfort and durability. Sometimes, as with many other special products, buying walking shoes meant exclusively for women may work out too expensive. In such cases, you would be better off buying your shoes in the general section.
Good shoes: Make sure that your walking shoes fit well. Take into consideration the shape and size of your feet. It is easy to fall for a pair which makes your feet look slimmer or smaller, but it would not necessarily be comfortable. Shoes that are too narrow can cause calluses or blisters. The same goes for shoes that are too wide. Make sure that the toes are wide enough, or you could end up with problems like hammertoes or bunions. Some women may have very high arches or some may have flat feet. While women’s walking shoes do cater for that, you will also find them in the general section. Buy shoes which provide a good support to your arches, as this would help to distribute the weight of your body evenly, and prevent injuries to the feet and back.
Check for gel pads or roll bars to provide adequate cushioning and stability. Another important point to remember when you go shoe-shopping is to go in the late morning or afternoon, after you have already done some walking around, and your feet would be slightly swollen and you could then make a perfect choice.
