Program For Walking

The human body uses energy based on the requirements of the various muscles and organs at any given time. Fat is used to store unused energy and some of the nutrition that is not used may be passed out of the body in the form of feces or urine. The various muscles in the body tend to be relaxed and at rest when they are not being used. Over a period of time, these muscles may lose their strength to a certain extent. The blood circulates around the body because of the heart’s pumping action. The circulation efficiency also depends on the health of the circulatory system itself.
In order to improve the functioning of these vital body functions one may walk for exercise and fitness. Walking programs are useful to improve the body’s circulatory system as well as the respiratory system. When the body is under load, it tends to work harder to provide nutrition and oxygen to the areas of the body where the load is being applied. This raises the heart rate and, consequently, the rate of respiration as well. These are both beneficial as they allow the organs concerned to work harder and receive more blood circulation. This builds up the efficiency of these organs and is generally good for the health of an individual. Walking also allows the muscles and joints involved in the process to improve their efficiency as well. Increased blood circulation allows more nutrition to reach the muscles and joints. This keeps them flexible and healthy.  Improved circulation also means that metabolic waste is more efficiently disposed of.
Walking programs are modified to cater to specific individuals. People who are overweight may need to start their regime slowly whereas younger fitter people may start exerting quickly. A good walking program will, over a period of time, lead to a dramatic improvement in the health of an individual. Walking programs also differ based on the objective of the exercise. Walking may be used for general health in which case it is likely to be of low intensity. Walking used for exercise involves more exertion and may be used over longer distances and at higher speeds. The best walking program for an individual is possible if the individual notes what he or she is feeling at the time. This will allow the individual to push his or her body to the limit that it is capable of handling.
