Yoga Poses and Exercises for Skin Health

Yoga can help the body to rejuvenate from inside out. Skin health depends greatly on the dietary pattern and on the functioning of the digestive system. It is constipation and malfunction of the digestive system which hampers the skin and prevents the skin from looking beautiful and healthy.

Yoga provides proper exercise to the body. The breathing exercises of yoga help to supply proper oxygen to various organs of the body and let the muscles relax and revitalize. This assists to tone the muscles of the body.

Yoga can help in the reduction of the wrinkles and increases facial charm. All inverted postures of yoga like head stand, hand stand, wheel pose, fish pose, lion pose works great for the skin.

A series of poses of yoga helps the body rejuvenate over a period of time and show great results on the mind as well as the body.  You should always begin with simple yoga postures like dead corpse pose and later take up the lotus pose, Pranayam (Breath Exercise) and then move forward with all inverted postures.

Dead corpse pose is simple and easy. All you need to do is lie flat on the ground. Relax completely. Inhale deeply and exhale slowly. Keep you hands beside your trunk. Practice it for sometime before and after your yoga session.

Next in sequence should be the lotus pose. You need to sit with folded legs which should be locked. You should keep your hand over your knees. Deeply concentrate by closing your eyes. Relax. Breathe deeply. Inhale forcefully, exhale slowly. This posture of yoga helps you greatly to relax and revitalize all your energy. The breathing exercise as a part of Lotus pose helps to provide sufficient amount of oxygen to the facial muscles. This helps to restore the lost charm in the body. Yoga postures help to supply oxygen rich blood to all the organs of the body. This vitalizes the skin and brings great glow on the skin.

Yoga Postures to Oxygenate Facial Skin Muscles

Once you have gained mastery over these postures you can proceed further with other complicated inverted yoga postures like fish, wheel and lion postures. For the fish pose, if you are in the posture of lotus pose then you may lie down still holding your folded leg postures and let your head touch the ground. This will help provide better supply of oxygenated blood to the facial muscles and rejuvenate it. You should free yourself slowly from the posture.

Wheel pose is slightly different from the above postures. You need to lie flat on the ground on your back. Slowly lift your trunk above the ground with the support of both of your hands and the legs. Hold this wheel pose for quite sometime.

These postures if followed in sequence will show considerable results in smoothing your skin and inmproving the health of your skin in short span of time.
