I am a performing artist and I am supposed to wear a sleeveless dress, but I am worried of my dark underarms. How can I cure it within few days?
Dark underarms can be a concern for those who like to wear sleeveless dresses, swimsuits and halter tops. Beauty conscious women would be appalled if their armpits begin to look dark and would search for ways to make them look fairer. Some of the reasons why women get dark armpits are a build up of dead skin, perfumes and deodorants, constant sweating, infections due to unhygienic habits, shaving the hair in the armpits, and using hair-removing lotions. In some cases, apart from getting dark armpits, women also develop a bad odor and itching in their arm pits.
Home Remedies To Lighten Dark Underarms
- First of all, you need to maintain good hygiene of the underarms. Wash your underarms thoroughly when you take a bath or after you come home from a hard, sweaty day at work. Try to wash your underarms after an outing, especially if you have used a deodorant. Pat your underarms with a clean towel so as to leave any moisture and spur on an infection.
- Check if your armpits are getting darkened because of any hair-removing cream or because of constant shaving. If yes, then try waxing as this way the hair can be pulled out from the roots and waxing also clears of any dead skin. Wear slightly loose fitting clothes to avoid friction and prevent sweating.
- Make a paste with a pinch of turmeric powder, a spoonful of cucumber juice, and a spoonful of lemon juice. Smear this paste on your underarms and keep it that way for twenty minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
- Make a paste by combining a teaspoon of milk, gram flour and a tablespoon of curd. Sprinkle a pinch of turmeric into this mixture and apply the paste on your underarms. After it becomes dry and flaky, rinse with water.
- Slice a lemon and rub the fresh juice on your underarms. Leave on for some time before washing.
- Drink a lot of water through the day to help your body flush out the toxins and keep your skin healthy and glowing.
- Eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits as these are packed with vitamins and minerals and natural plant chemicals.
- Make another type of homemade paste with baking soda and vinegar. Rub this on your underarms twice a day, and do this for a few days to lighten the underarm skin.
- If this doesn’t work, speak to a beauty therapist, and ask her if you would need a laser treatment or if they can suggest any other natural therapy.
