However, if your sole aim is to lose weight, the amount of calories burned by jogging a mile are much more as compared to lifting weights. The amount of calories burned after running 1 mile is about 100 to 200 calories in case of an average person. Whatever you do, bottom line is that the amount of calories you burn should be more than the intake of calories.
