Yoga Asana |Pose Work Together With Medicine To Provide Relief From Allergy

What Are Yoga Remedies For Allergies

Allergies have various symptoms in different people, some of them are headaches, sneezing, nasal congestion, watery eyes, runny nose, sore throat, itching, and these signs may also be accompanied with weakness and drowsiness in some cases. During such time the body must be allowed to rest. There are several yoga asanas or poses that work with your medicines to provide relief from allergies. They can be modified to suit the person’s ailment. Yoga poses help to relax and rejuvenate the body by giving it the much needed rest without any extra efforts. In the supported Supta Baddha Konasana or the supported reclining bound angle pose, a bolster can be placed lengthwise to support the torso from waist up. Once in this position you can relax as the bolster maintains the lift of the chest while you relax completely. This increases the lymph and blood circulation and also helps you to breathe easily. This yoga pose can be used for nasal allergies, headache or generally to relax your body.

Viparita Karani or the elevated legs-up-the-wall pose is beneficial for blood circulation to all the important body parts like the brain, heart and lungs to supply fresh oxygen and blood in order to flush out the toxins from there and revitalize the body. Since it is an inverted pose it also helps in improved functioning of the colon and intestines, as they are not weighed down anymore and function well. You only need a wall, the floor and a bolster for this asana or pose. Place the bolster lengthwise, parallel to the wall. Leave some inches of space between the bolster and the wall. Rest your lower back on the bolster and put your legs up against the wall while your shoulders and head rest firmly on the floor. Rest you arms by your side and relax in this pose for about 10 minutes. To come out of this asana or pose you need to bend your knees towards yourself slowly, rest your feet against the wall and then slowly push yourself from the bolster so that your lower back now rests on the floor. You can keep your shins resting on the bolster and relax for 30 to 40 seconds or a minute and then slowly roll onto one side and get into the sitting position.

Both these yoga asanas or poses are beneficial for relaxing a person suffering from allergies and they also help to boost the immune system.
