This causes the color of melanin to change to a shade darker – the more exposure, the more the darkening. On the other side of the reaction, the ultraviolet light is absorbed and converted into harmless heat; thereby, saving the cells of the skin from certain damage and cancer.

Remedies For Dark Skin

To solve your continuous darkening, what you need to do is to apply a sun block lotion. This is a crème that contains minute crystals in it that diffuse any ultraviolet light that comes in contact with your skin, saving skin melanin the trouble of protecting your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Make sure you buy a cream or lotion that possesses a high SPF value. SPF is the abbreviation for Sun Protection Factor of a sun block cream and it indicates the amount of time an individual can stand out in the sun without getting a tan. Therefore, the higher the SPF value the better it is for your skin. If you purchase a lotion that has a low SPF value, make sure you reapply it after an hour. For the skin that is already tanned, what you need to do is to bleach your skin. For this, make a vitamin C rich solution out of lemons and strawberries that are crushed and apply it to your face and the other darkened areas of your skin, like a face or skin pack. This will reverse the effects of oxidative stress on the melanin. In addition you must exfoliate your skin with a salicylic acid face wash to always reveal lighter, younger skin.
