Sore throat, hoarseness and plugged ears home remedies: Please suggest remey for plugged ears and sore throat?.

Swollen Lymph Nodes Sore Throat Cough:

Sore throats are normally caused by bacterial or viral infections. The only distinguishing element between the two infections is that, whilst a bacterial infection is responsive to treatment, viral infections are not. It is advisable to seek medical opinion on the type of sore throat before opting for self medication. It is necessary to identify the reasons for swollen lymph glands, as an indication of lymph gland infection can lead to other complications and infections and if not treated early may lead to severe complications.

Plugged Ears Remedy:

At times, if the ears are plugged due to cold or flu, the pressure caused in the ears is best left alone. Routine daily pressure caused by actions of eating, drinking and breathing will eventually lead to the opening of the blocked cavity. Other measures that can be tried at home include drinking water with large gulps. This is a method that has proven to be very effective as most people — who try this method and have no prior medical ailment — report that the ears open up accompanied by a popping sound. In case you are not able to drink the water with large gulps you may try to swallow a big bite of something. Honey and lemon combined together and consumed at night will provide relief from sore throat and accompanying cold and cough. Applying compresses of lemon to the throat is also known to be an effective treatment. Consume plenty of freshly squeezed orange or lemon juices as these are very beneficial for the healing of sore throats.

Sore Throat Treatment:

The soothing mucilage of Fenugreek seeds is a well-known home remedy used to bring about relief from sore throat, coughs and indigestion. Take 2 teaspoons of crushed fenugreek seeds and boil them in a saucepan with a cup of water. Let it simmer for about ten minutes. The cooled solution is helpful in getting rid of the sore throat. It is advisable to consume as many as three cups a day. You may use honey, peppermint or anise as natural flavoring agents to improve the taste. The fenugreek herbal concoction has been known to heal sore throats entirely, without the need for any other form of medication; however, such a claim has not yet been medically proven and hence it’s best to take such advice with a pinch of salt.
For relief from sore throats, you can also drink and gargle with tea brewed from the thyme herb. The freshly prepared juice of pomegranates also serves the same purpose and is as effective.

Another unusual but effective option is blackcurrant or blackberry jam. You can take either of these jams in a cup of hot water. It acts as an effective gargle solution once you have strained it. Equally potent is a mixture prepared with the juice of blackcurrant, blackberry jelly, shrub, rob and cordial or vinegar which is diluted in a mug of boiling water with or without the addition of cinnamon. This solution is effective when used as a drink or to gargle.
