Burnt Tongue
Your condition cannot be one of simply a burnt tongue because the condition would not last as long as it has. Brown spots on the tongue in most infections also would not last this long and any condition would have flared up at some point. Therefore, your condition is quite a mystery and you need to let a doctor have a look at it. The closest thing that does come to mind, since you mentioned the color brown, is the presence of melanin in the tongue.
Brown Spots On The Tongue
Melanin is a skin pigment and usually only occurs in the skin and as its variants eumelanin and pheomelanin in the hair. Melanin’s two main uses is the synthesis of vitamin D after exposure to ultraviolet light and protection from the ultraviolet radiation of the sun – a natural sunscreen. Melanin in the tongue could be a product of lentigo. These are basically the same liver spots that you sometimes see on your skin and are a harmless collection of melanin that forms in one hyperpigmented spot.
Brown Spots Laser Treatment And Removal
Since melanin should actually not be on your tongue in the first place, you might want to visit an orthodontist or a cosmetic surgeon to get these brown spots removed using a laser. Lasers work by destroying the melanocyte cells in the skin and this effectively stops the chances of the melanin ever coming back. The alternatives are not feasible for you, for example, topical applications like hydroquinone and Tretinoin cannot be applied on the tongue since they carry the risk of toxicity. The only other option available to you is to try regular skin bleach that would normally be done on the skin in your mouth, by using a home remedy. This can be attempted by dicing an onion and squeezing the juice out of the pieces. Then add some lemon juice to this mix and taking it into your mouth. There is no harm in swallowing this mixture but you would really feel like trying it anyway. Keep doing this continuously and increase your dietary intake of vitamin E and C as well. These are available by consuming citrus fruits and onions for vitamin C and seafood and leafy greens for vitamin E. You could also resort to just taking supplements as well for these two vitamins. This bleaching should also be followed by cleaning the tongue every morning to remove plaque and encouraging new skin growth in the tongue.
