Natural Remedies For Puffy Nipples

If any part of your body has become puffy, it is likely that this has happened due to an injury or an abrasion of some sort. If this is the case, then you can use all sorts of old wives’ remedies to get them back to being normal. One of the best things to do is to apply cold compresses to them. Since the nipples are not an open cavity of the body, you can also apply ice cubes directly to them. This will help to bring down the puffiness quickest. If you find this to be too extreme, you can also apply cold compresses to them every now and then. If you are not comfortable with applying cold compresses, then you can also use warm compresses instead. Warm compresses are also very effective in helping with reducing swelling in some cases. Just make sure you do not overdo it. This method will work slowly, but it will definitely work. You can also massage them with any oil you are comfortable using. It would be infinitely more effective if you were to massage your entire chest while you were at it. This will provide relief as well. Moreover, it is always easier to massage a large area as compared to a small area. One of the most soothing oils you can use for this massage is rosemary oil. It will help with providing relief and will also help to bring down the swelling to some extent. Rosemary oil is very useful in cases of inflammation. Alternatively, you can also use lavender, coconut or olive oil. Both of these will also be helpful in providing relief and bringing down the swelling.

If you think that you are suffering from any other problem apart from a regular inflammation, you need to consult with a doctor at the earliest possible opportunity. It is possible that you have developed some sort of infection which is keeping your nipples tender and puffed up. While not very common, this is not completely impossible either. It is possible that you may also have developed small cuts on them. If this is the case, you would need to check with a doctor who will be able to guide you better on what you can do to take additional care. By yourself at home, you would not be able to do too much more than the remedies mentioned above, and neither should you try.
