How To Stop Menstrual Cycle

The menstrual cycle can play havoc in some of the must well laid plans. The fact that the cycle does not necessarily kick in after a certain timeframe makes it harder to predict the amount of inconvenience it can cause. There are a number of reasons that people would like to alter or temporarily stop the occurrence of a menstruation such as an important day at the office that cannot be missed as a result of the possibility of menstrual cramps, leaving on vacation with the likelihood of the onset of the cycle during travel or even participation in adventure sports – where the onset of a menstrual cycle can not only be inconvenient, but quite embarrassing as well. It is important to remember, however, that just as with any alteration of the internal body clock, there is always considerable long term risk and any decisions that are made in this regard should always be evaluated by your gynecologist. Your gynecologist would be ideally placed to identify the best method for you to achieve this as he or she would be in possession or your complete medical history as well as other details.

Natural Way To Delay Menstrual Cycle

While there are no real natural methods of stalling a menstrual cycle, there are a number of drugs available over the counter to achieve this outcome. Again, however, you should consult your doctor to identify if any of these pills may have side effects on you depending on the outcome of any medical tests that were performed.  The most commonly used method of delaying a menstrual cycle is to take a drug called progestagen. The ideal course for this tablet is for it to be taken 3 times every day for as long as the woman chooses her period to be delayed. Once the intake has been stopped, it usually takes a couple of days for the normal menstrual cycle to resume. This method is not 100% effective and you may also notice some amount of bleeding while taking the drug. Some noticeable side effects include breast tenderness, fluid retention and mood disturbances. Another option is to use a combined oral birth control pills, but this course needs to be started well before the onset of the menstrual cycle. For effectiveness, it is recommended that two packs of the pills be taken consecutively without a break in order to avoid having the period at an inconvenient time. This option will also be quite effective if the woman desires contraception as well.
