The skins around my nipples have peeling from last couple of months, I am using Neosporin on it, do you have home remedies solution for this? I am not breast feeding for your information
Peeling nipples is a fairly common problem and it can happen to any woman at any stage in her life. In some cases, the reasons could be as simple as hormonal changes that come about with time. Though far fetched and without any empirical evidence, this is a reason that has been attributed to this phenomenon. The hormonal balance of the body changes every five to ten years, depending upon general health, sexual practices, lifestyle and so on. While sometimes, there are extreme changes such as development of primary hair in unwanted places such as the face, unusual problems such as changes in the shape and texture of the nipples also come about. If something as strong as Neosporin is not helping, it is better to consult with your regular gynecologist about this problem. It could be that there is some sort of medication required to control this problem. It could also be that this is a result of taking some form of contraceptive pill. If you have recently started taking some pill and then this problem has occurred, you can request your gynecologist for a change of brand or type. Sometimes the solution could be as simple as this one.
Remedies For Peeling Nipples
You can try to use a few remedial measures at home to see if this can be resolved. Apply a paste made with clarified butter and turmeric powder. Helpful in treating excessively dry and cracked skin almost anywhere on the body, this is a very good solution for dryness that is not the result of another inherent problem. A paste of sandalwood powder and rose water will also be helpful in treating a case of dryness. Application of coconut or olive oil is also useful in taking care of dry skin. Mustard oil is also considered to be particularly helpful in treating almost any kind of skin problem. Be careful with this, however, as it may leave a mark on your clothes. Also, the oil has a strong odor that some people may also find offensive. Another really good measure is to apply hot washcloths to the nipples for a few minutes and then apply coconut oil. This will help the oil to penetrate deeply into the skin and can help with curing it. Keep in mind that these measures should not be the only attempts made to cure this problem, particularly if it lasts beyond a month. Medial assistance is equally necessary.
