Make sure the sun block contains SPF 15 and higher SPF. For those who exercise outdoors, try to exercise before dawn or after sunset or maybe join the gym. Lemon is known to lighten the skin, so when selecting a skin cream choose one that uses lemon extract. You could also prepare a lemon face cleanser by mixing some lemon juice with water. Use a clean cotton ball to spread this mixture on your face, rinse after a few minutes and apply a moisturizer to prevent dryness. Papaya is also good for skin lightening. Mash one papaya and apply it as a face mask. Keep the mask for about 10 – 20 minutes and then rinse. Apply a moisturizer if needed. Green papaya is more effective and can be used to not just lighten but also exfoliate the skin. Buttermilk or curd applied to the face for 20 minutes are also easy and effective as skin lightening agents.

Try to take some vitamin E capsules to even out your skin tone. Alternately, empty the contents of a vitamin E capsule and apply it to your face before going to bed. The extract of liquorice contains a natural skin lightening agent known as glabridin. Use this extract twice a day as an effective skin lightener. Potato juice contains a natural bleaching agent that can be used as a face mask. Apply the juice of one potato for approximately 20 minutes and then rinse. Prepare an orange face mask by mixing orange peel powder in a small quantity of milk. The mixture should be of a paste-like consistency. Apply for about 20 minutes. Prepare a refreshing tomato-cucumber-lemon face mask by combining two teaspoons of sandalwood powder (should be available at a natural food store), one teaspoon lemon juice, one teaspoon cucumber juice, and one teaspoon tomato juice. Mix till it becomes a paste. Apply on the skin until it dries and then rinse.
