I haven’t had period since last two months, at the same time I am not pregnant also. What could be the reason ?
Absence of periods in a woman is termed as menorrhea. When a woman doesn’t get her periods till about 16 years of age, it is called primary amenorrhea. And, if she does get it but periods become irregular at a later point, the condition is called secondary amenorrhea. This condition is also characterized by light flow of blood or spotting when a woman does have her periods. There are many causes of amenorrhea like a devitalized condition of the system, bad lifestyle, and faulty eating habits. Other than these, emotional disturbances, stress, grief, and anxiety are also responsible for irregular periods. If you suffer from any of the above mentioned problems, getting rid of them will help you regulate periods. And, usually, if caused by these, the problem of amenorrhea resolves on its own. This is also caused by sudden loss of weight, anorexia or bulimia, or heavy exercising and physical activity. So, gaining some amount of weight and also going easy on exercise may also solve the problem. Ailments like thyroid problem, hormonal imbalances, and polycystic ovarian syndrome are also reasons for missed and light periods. So, you must get yourself examined for these also. A case of PCOS, if left untreated, can lead to infertility. Hence, it would be advisable if you ensured that you do not suffer from it as soon as you can.
How To Regularize Periods
To regularize periods, you must consume a healthy and well balanced diet with lots of green leafy vegetables, raw vegetables, and fresh fruits. Also drink at least three liters of water everyday. Avoid consuming processed and junk food as much as possible as these also result in irregular periods. A brisk walk for an hour everyday will also help you in normalizing periods. You can also take 50 ml of parsley juice twice everyday till your periods are regularized. Ginger is also a great curer of stoppage of menses. You can boil a piece of pounded ginger in a cup of water for a few minutes and consume it post meals thrice a day. Sesame is also effective in curing scanty periods. Take a teaspoon of sesame seeds with a glass of warm water everyday about two days before your periods due date. Or, take half a spoon of sesame seeds powder with warm water twice daily. Along with this, you can crush sesame seeds and add them to a bathtub of water and soak in it for 20 minutes.
