Piles or hemorrhoids are swellings in the anal tract or rectum. This condition is caused when the blood vessels and veins in this area get inflamed and swollen. There can be two types of hemorrhoids. The second type is external hemorrhoids, which means that the external veins swell up. External hemorrhoids can be felt and seen on the outer region of the anus. The belief is that as these conditions exert an increased amount of pressure on the hemorrhoid veins, causing them to swell up. A liver disease could also increase the pressure in these veins resulting in hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can be very painful. An individual suffering from it may face difficulty while passing stool on account of the pressure exerted on the rectal region.

Here are a few suggestions that can help you with your condition. Soak 3-4 figs overnight in a glass of water. Make sure that the figs have been cleaned thoroughly before you soak them. The next morning immediately after waking up, consume both the figs as well as the water in which they were soaked. Repeat this procedure in the evening for a span of three or four weeks. The seeds of this fruit are able to stimulate peristaltic movements of the intestine. This enables the easy excretion of feces. A mixture made from half a teaspoon of ginger juice, 1 tablespoon of honey and a teaspoon of lime juice and mint juice, should be had once a day. This, too, will yield positive results.
White radish is also considered to be useful for people with this condition. Make a mixture of grated radish and a spoonful of honey. Have this twice a day for about two weeks. It will provide a lot of relief and will alleviate pain, if any. In fact, a paste of spinach leaves can also be applied externally to reduce swelling and discomfort. Sesame seeds can also be used as an effective remedy for this condition. Take a teaspoon of these seeds and boil them in 2 cups of water till the quantity of water is reduced to 1/3rd. This solution should be had once it has cooled.
