How To Remove Ear Wax: Tips To Avoid Wax Buid Up In Your Ear

Natural Tips For Ear Wax Removal

Wax, that is naturally present in our ears, is there to protect our ears from infection and also to make sure that the walls of our ears do not dry up. Therefore, it is necessary that a normal amount of wax is always present in our ears. If due to some reason this amount builds up over a period of time and becomes excessive, one would face problems like difficulty in hearing and a painful and uncomfortable ear. This happens as a result of the pressure of the wax keeps increasing. Ideally, once a month, you should clean your ears to remove the excessive ear wax to make sure that the build up does not take place. To do this, do not at any cost, use ear buds to remove the wax. Instead of removing the wax, it does the exact opposite and it pushes the wax in even further. The best thing to do is to pour warm water (equivalent to body temperature, neither too hot nor too cold) in your ears, leave it for a little while, and then tilt your head the other way and let it drain out. Do this 3 to 4 times for each ear, each time to drain out the excess wax.

However, this is something that you need to do on a regular basis to avoid the build up. But if the build up has already happened, and if you are in a lot of pain, then the best thing to do would be to go to a doctor and get your ears cleaned professionally. This will, at least, insure that your ears do get cleaned up without them getting damaged. However, if you feel that the situation is not so bad, and you can manage to take care of this at home, then do take the utmost care while working on this. Since the build up has already taken place, chances are that pouring only warm water will not work. You can try to soften the wax by first putting a few drops of warm olive oil in your ears for 3 to 4 days, morning and night. Then you can pour the warm water to remove the wax. If however, even this does not work, then you can use hydrogen peroxide. Just a few drops takeoff the same would be required to loosen the wax and unclog the ears. While using hydrogen peroxide, you will actually hear a popping or fizzing sound, ndicating that it is working. However care needs to be taken while using this as it can lead to harmful side effects also.
