Getting Fair Skin With Turmeric

Turmeric For Fair Skin

The skin color that you are born with is usually a standard or a baseline for how fair you could get. This has to be tempered a bit to add the effect of adult hormones altering your complexion over the years to a darker shade – darker if you are a man. Beyond this, your complexion primarily depends on your exposure to the sun.

Skin pigmentation happens as a result of melanin in the body. This substance is synthesized in the body as a protection against the harsh effects of sunlight – specifically ultraviolet radiation. This makes melanin a natural sunscreen secreted within the body. Most efforts at changing a person’s complexion are focused on this skin pigment. The first step towards this is to ensure that you don’t end up absorbing more ultraviolet radiation than you should. This is because one of the by products of interacting with ultraviolet radiation is that melanin undergoes oxidative stress, which darkens melanin, and you. Staying away from the harsh sun, and covering your body up when you go out is a good method. Even carrying an umbrella along as well would serve the purpose, but just remember that even on cloudy days, you will have to do this because ultraviolet radiation is not like light and passes right through the clouds to reach the earth. The next step is to start an exfoliation regime. The reason for this is that a lot of complexion problems that darker skinned people have are because of the rate of skin change, which is higher in darker skinned people. This causes a lot of dead skin to sometimes end up piling up and since this layer is darker than the younger skin below it, one ends up looking darker unnecessarily. Exfoliation can be done using an acid medium like lemon juice, wine, milk and even salicylic acid. Then a massage and a rub on the face and arms with sugar crystals will peel off the dead skin.

This treatment itself will do wonders with your skin as a new rejuvenated skin is always present beneath the visible layer. The next steps involve a magical rhizome called Turmeric. Make a face pack out of turmeric powder and milk cream and apply it to your face. Keep this for an hour and wash it off. If this is too tedious, dice some onions very finely and then squeeze the juice out of them. Apply this to your face and massage it in and let it dry. Repeat this a few times and then wash your face.
