Causes Of Hair Loss And Thinning
Hair loss and thinning hair is a rather common problem. Other than making use of remedies to prevent hair fall and promote hair growth, it is important to know the causes of it in the first place and eliminate those problems from one’s life. The greatest causative factors of hair thinning and hair loss are heredity, malnutrition, poor blood circulation, unclean scalp, vitamin deficiency, hormonal imbalance, stress, excess dandruff, and prolonged illness like typhoid, anemia, syphilis, and influenza. To keep one’s hair in good condition, a person must shampoo and condition it thoroughly at least twice a week, be stress free, get regular exercise to improve blood circulation, and maintain a balanced diet to get adequate vitamins and proteins. If someone suffers from dandruff, he must get rid of it to promote hair growth. One must also avoid washing hair with hot water as it strips the moisture leading to hair breakage. Getting inadequate sleep is also one of the major causes of hair loss. So, it’s important to get at least seven hours of sleep every night and take adequate rest.
Home Treatment For Hair Growth
To control hair loss or thinning, one can massage a mix of warm coconut oil and lemon juice or aloe vera juice into the scalp, let it stay for about 30 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo. This must be done thrice a week. Other than strengthening hair from its roots, the mix also gets rid of dandruff, which is a leading cause of hair fall. Apply a mix of coconut milk and aloe vera gel for 20 minutes and wash it off also helps a lot. Regularly massaging the oil of mustard, almond, olive, castor, or sesame into the scalp singly or mixing them together also promotes hair growth. It’s important to massage the scalp for about five minutes everyday as it improves blood circulation. A paste made from black pepper, lemon seeds and water can also be applied on to the scalp and washed off after 20 minutes. This method can be followed once a week to aid hair growth. Other than these remedies, one must avoid smoking and consuming excessive alcohol and unhealthy foods like junk food and processed food. All these have a negative effect on one’s hair and health in general. Avoiding overuse of hair colors, dyes, styling products and equipments like hairdryer, hair ironing machine, and curlers would be advisable as these hair treatment methods weaken hair resulting in hair fall.
