Get Rid Tan

Getting rid of a tan at home is an easy task considering that the ingredients for the task are regularly available in every kitchen; however, it is important to consider that a home remedy to remove a tan can take some time to show its effects. This is especially in the case where the tan is a more permanent tan that has been brought on by melanogenesis. If the tan is something that has occurred because of short periods of exposure to the sun, you should be able to apply home remedies with considerable success.

UV Rays Tanning

A skin tan occurs due to the oxidative effect of ultraviolet light on the skin pigment melanin. Melanin has two purposes in human beings: vitamin D creation and to act as a natural sunscreen. The sunscreen effect is the reason that most people who can trace their ancestry to the tropics will have darker skin. This is because of the evolutionary need to be better protected from the harsh UV rays of the sun. There are two levels of skin tanning; the first is because of exposure to the UVA band of radiation, which will cause a tan to form quickly; while exposure to UVB radiation will cause a process called melanogenesis to occur. Melanogenesis causes the melanocyte cells of the skin to create more melanin, in turn causing a slow permanent tan. As weeks go by the skin continuously brings new layers to the surface. This is crucial process in ridding the skin of melanin in excess and is called exfoliation. This process can be sped up with the use of natural acids and solvents to help reveal a more youthful skin beneath. The final part of the puzzle of tanning is the diet. A diet that is deficient in vitamin E can make melanin production go unchecked.

Home Remedies Tan Removal

The process of removing a tan starts with skin bleaching using the natural bleaching agent, ascorbic acid or vitamin C. First, dice an onion or two, finely and squeeze the juice out of it.  To this solution, add some freshly squeezed lemon juice and let it sit in the refrigerator. Next, use a salicylic acid face wash to clear away any dead skin on the dermis. Then apply the bleaching solution like layers of paint on the skin and let it sit on the skin until it dries. Keep applying layers until you are done with the solution. This exercise should be done at least thrice a week. Add more vitamin E to your diet by consuming more green vegetables and seafood.
