What Is High Uric Acid
Hyperuricemia is a relatively common condition where a person’s bloodstream contains unusually high levels of uric acid. Completely stopping any alcohol consumption may be extremely important depending on the seriousness of acid content. While you may not notice too many symptoms with the condition, some individuals may experience chills and a fever.
Diet And Foods For High Uric Acid
Your diet plays a very important role in dealing with hyperuricemia, therefore you must make sure that you lay off any high purine foods. Increase your intake of healthier foods such as pasta, flour, tapioca, cakes, milk and eggs. Increase your liquid intake including fruit juices and carbonated drinks. You should also make it a point to avoid any consumption of caffeine as it is known to aggravate the condition. Raw fruits and vegetables are the order of the day while foods like lettuce, tomatoes and peanut butter are highly recommended. Some medications are also known to significantly increase the levels of uric acid in your body, so if you are taking any medication currently, you may want to check with your doctor and look for a substitute if it is affecting you. Although otherwise very healthy, foods like oatmeal, spinach and cauliflower should also be avoided.
