There are a few things you need to keep in mind to make sure that the burnt area doesn’t get more irritated. Till your burns heal, eat food only after cooling it down. Avoid foods with sharp edges, like toasts and chips. These may hurt the burnt and tender part. You must also avoid spicy food as much as possible, as this will irritate the lesion too. Avoid hot beverages like coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Replace these with cold milk, preferably soy milk. This will give a protective coating to the burnt portion. Till your burns heal, avoid using oral hygiene products like mouthwash, as they contain chemicals that may worsen the condition of your burns. Including Vitamin B in your daily diet would also help a lot.
