Yogasanas Beneficial For Reducing And Toning Thighs

How To Reduce Thighs By Practicing Yoga

Not only will you get a good figure but also a well toned body with healthy glowing skin and hair. But to achieve this you need to practice yoga regularly preferably daily if you can manage the time for it. And you would need to learn right from the basics. It would be great if you could go and join a regular yoga class where a qualified yoga instructor will teach you everything you need to know right from the basics to the advanced levels. This will also help you to learn yoga in a systematic manner and the presence of others members in the class will help to motivate you to be dedicated to your yoga practice. You would need to start by learning the Dhyana or meditation to help you focus and concentrate on your balance and breathing pattern. This will also help to calm you down. Next you will learn the pranayama or the breathing exercises that help to correct your breathing pattern. This is very important as the yoga asanas rely on you breathing in the correct manner to achieve the balance and the effects of the asana or posture on your body. You may then move on to the various yoga asanas or postures. Some of the asanas or postures that are beneficial for reducing and toning your thighs are as follows:

  • Surya Namaskar or the Sun Salutation – this is a powerful series of twelve different poses performed one after the other. This stretches, strengthens and tones the entire body.
  • Janu Shirshasana or the Head To Knee Forward Bend Pose – this stretches and strengthens your spine, groin and hamstrings. It also helps to improve your digestion along with stimulating your kidneys and liver.
  • Uttana Asana or the Forward Bend Pose – this helps to strengthen your calves, hamstrings and hips. It also tones and tightens your knees and thighs
  • Ardha Chandra Asana or the Half Moon Pose – this too helps to stretch and strengthen your back, legs, abdomen and chest.
  • Paschimottasan Asana or the Forward Bend Pose – this too stretches and strengthens your body like the other asanas or poses
