Sore Muscles Can Be Relieved By Practicing Pranayama|Dhyana Yoga

Why Do My Muscles Ache And Feel Hard And Tense After A Day Of Yoga Exercise

Yoga asanas or poses are to be done in a slow systematic manner with proper breath control and balance. Yoga helps to cure the muscle ache; it does not cause it unless the asana or posture was done in a wrong manner. While practicing yoga poses you need to listen to your body and not overdo anything or rush into a pose, as that is what causes injuries and sore muscles. When the body stretches itself more than usual the limbs get sore due to over exertion and this leads to aching muscles and limbs. Sometimes exercising in the wrong way could also lead to sore aching muscles. It is quite common and happens due to the fine tears in the muscles that are exerted or overworked. Usually the pain goes away within 3 to 6 days but meanwhile you can try the following. Massage the affected area gently with some warm oil or you could try an ice pack to bring down the swelling. Do not practice any vigorous exercise unless the muscle tension and pain has subsided. Remember to warm up before starting any form of exercise. Also remember to do some gentle stretches to cool your body after a vigorous workout. Workout and exercise correctly under qualified professional supervision. You can relieve the sore muscles by breathing exercises that are practiced in yoga like Pranayama meaning breathing and by Dhyana, which means meditation. In yoga your breath is your vital energy. Learning to control this energy can help you control your mind and body easily. Breathing and meditation will help to soothe your tense muscles and will alleviate stress thereby reducing pain, increasing your focus, energizing you, keeping infections and illness at bay and will also keep you motivated and peaceful.

You need to practice yoga daily for at least half an hour along with Dhyana or meditation. Please make sure that you learn the correct technique of the asanas (yoga postures) from a qualified teacher and practice under proper guidance before practicing alone at home. When done in the correct manner yoga will help to relieve the tension in your entire body and make you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. The yoga asanas or postures when combined with various techniques of controlled systematic deep breathing help to flush out the toxins effectively from the body and also help to relieve the muscle tension and pain. You can learn various breathing techniques like Anuloma Viloma or alternate nostril breathing to Kapalabhati which is also known as the skull shining breath.
