Yoga for Jaundice, Asanas, Exercises, Diet for Jaundice

Hi guys!

Just got over my first bout of jaundice. Like wow!

Afraid of yellow fever? So was I; until I had a bout of it, that is. Jaundice, it’s one and the same. Then it is that I came to realize the hows, whys and cures of it.

No big deal, actually; let’s get straight to the point.

For relief from jaundice, I would recommend:

  • Practice Yoga
  • Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day
  • Eat lots of raw fruits and vegetables (especially green leafy vegetables)
  • Juice is good (make your own with a juice machine)
  • Avoid coffee, alcohol, soda pop, other junk food drinks
  • Avoid processed foods white sugar, white flour, etc.
  • Avoid red meat and animal fats
  • Reduce dairy products cheese, milk, and others
  • Fast a few days a month
  • A colon intestinal cleansing is helpful
  • Get lots of sleep
  • Don’t smoke; Avoid second hand smoke

Yoga: Try Matsyasana, Sarvangasana, Baddha Padmasana. Pranayamas, Sitali & Shitkari. They worked wonders for me.

Herbs: Chamomile is very effective for jaundice and for kids suffering from colic. Dandelion also increases activity in the pancreas, liver, and spleen and contains insulin substitutes. It has a high vitamin and mineral content. Subsequently, it is used to treat liver and kidney disorders.

Diet: Go for the boiled & spice less diet. Take radish leaves, tomato, lemon and dry fruits like dried dates with almonds & Cardamoms. Also have plenty of sugarcane juice, orange juice, bitter Luffa and barley water. This improves urination which helps get rid of excess bile pigments in the blood.

Lifestyle: I’d say take complete rest. Avoid heat, sex and psychic factors like anger and anxiety.
