Once you learn the poses well, you can discontinue classes and start practicing at home, by following the guidelines as recommended by your teacher and decide on ways to modify the existing practice.

Since you have the flexibility to practice at home, you can choose the timings for yourself. Do not practice yoga after a heavy meal. You should be clear in what you want to achieve by practicing yoga, which will help you in preparing a yoga plan for yourself. Adjust the timings based on your comfort level. Depending on the availability of time you can practice for half an hour to one-hour a day. At home you can set up the right mood for yourself by playing soft music that is soothing to the soul. You can make use of various audio and video materials on yoga available in the market for guided practice. Do not get discouraged if you are not able to achieve your target on time, remember that you are all by yourself so you can go at your pace and not get stressed out.

Yoga techniques must involve breathing and meditation exercises. Adapt yourself to your body requirements and select yoga techniques accordingly. If you miss out on a day for practice, do not overdo the practice the next day. If you exert yourself then that could harm your muscles and joints.
