How To Select A Good Yoga Classes For You

Prerequisites For Yoga Class Selection

There are quite a few necessary prerequisites to be considered before choosing a Yoga institution or centre. Here, we presume you are referring to a place of learning and practice – as in an institution – and not just a physical location where you practice. So what factors would you take into account when choosing? First of all, we suggest you check out their certification and authenticity. Do they have an international Yoga Alliance? Speak to friends and, probably even relatives, to find out how they’re faring. Above all, look into the results of their healing abilities. A good Yoga center or institution should have had, in due course, acquired certain Yogic healing skills and mastered Yoga therapy to the extent that they are able to deliver visible results. Nowadays, most organized institutions maintain a register of all their students, their tenure of practice, their state of health when joining and their overall progress.

A good institution is known to have most – if not all – of its students continue keeping in touch, long after having completed one or more courses. Also find out if they are familiar with the concept of Pranic healing (this, primarily, arises from the practice of pranayama). It would also be worthwhile to look into the institution’s license, location, ventilation and airiness, whether it is satisfactorily sound and pollution proof and, most importantly, whether or not they have an emergency room. Things can happen anywhere and even the best laid plans tend to go awry, and even the Yoga class is no exception. There are risks of twists and sprains or falls, for instance, in particular during Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) or warm up sessions. Ask all the questions you feel like and make all the necessary enquiries, especially if you happen to have a health condition.

Last but not the least; ensure that there is a doctor or para-medic in attendance. Nowadays, it has become imperative for all health centers to have a medical attendant on the premises while practices are in session. Some even make ambulance services available as part of their facilities. Please check out the availability of all such services.
