Beginners Yoga Routine
Yoga routine ideally should cover all aspects of yoga meaning the physical exercises i.e. asanas or poses. Breathing exercises to enhance physical and mental capacities. Thirdly and not the least important, your routine also needs to have mediation and chanting session so your spirituality and concentration powers too are increased.
Following is the list of poses you should start with for your Yoga routine. You need not practice each and every pose every day, in fact to get the most out of your routine you should you should try and maintain a balance of poses that can exercise all your body.
Start of any routine should be warming up or loosening of muscles. In yoga too there are some really simple actions that can help you loosen your body. Here is the list:
1) Vajrasana (Diamond pose): This pose is the start up one, there are many asanas that can be done in this pose, like the Diamond Sleeping pose. You can start by loosening of hand muscles and neck muscles, you can start by doing yoga neck exercises, shoulders and hands exercises, breathing exercises, when in Diamond pose.
2) Sitting exercises in Yoga: The next step could be the sitting exercises like the Lotus pose, Happy pose, twisting pose, Cow Face pose, Child pose, etc. When sitting in Lotus pose, you can also start with meditation and breathing exercises. You can also use some chants to bring in peacefulness and calm to your mind and body.
3) Exercises to be done lying down: There are many immensely useful and beneficial exercises that can be done lying down. You should be careful when doing these exercises. It is necessary that you are trained before you attempt these exercises all alone. Poses like the Leg pulls. Wind Relieving Pose, Leg to the side Yoga pose, Double leg raises, Shoulder stand, Plough pose, etc. You can do all the poses everyday, these are very effective in toning your body muscles.
4) Yoga poses when lying face down: These poses are effective in increasing flexibility of your body, these poses also help you in toning your stomach muscles. You can start with the Locust pose, Bow pose, Wheel pose, etc.
5) Shavasana (Corpse pose): If you go off to sleep when doing this pose, note that it is common. Corpse pose is important, it relieves any body tension built up at the time of doing Yoga, it removes aches and pain. Mostly, it tries and removes fatigue. This stress relief routine is important after every Yoga session.
Above is just an example of a Yoga routine, you can add or remove poses as per your convenience. However, the above basic poses are extremely necessary if you want to benefit from Yoga.
