Effective Remedies For Treating Swollen Lumps

There are swollen lump under my both feet and one on my ankle, what could cause these lumps?

Lumps on the skin refer to any kind of abnormal swelling on the skin’s surface which may be or may not be benign. It is difficult to determine what this lump is exactly, as you have failed to mention if it hurts, itches or if there is any kind of discharge. Many a times, wearing ill fitting shoes, standing for too long or over working the feet, can all lead to swellings of this sort. If in case there is pain, along with a liquid discharge from the concerned swellings, then consult a physician immediately. Additionally it is important to determine the exact cause of these bumps so that treatment can be administered accordingly. In the mean while here are a few home remedies to treat the skin lumps. First and foremost you will need to get yourself a comfortable pair of shoes, ones that are neither too tight nor too loose. Wearing open sandals for a few days may actually help flatten these bumps.

If over worked feet is the reason for this particular kind of swelling, then a warm compress or a hot bath would help. Alternatively you could soak your feet in some hot water for a few minutes. This will help in relaxing them and will also help in enhancing blood circulation. For the warm compress treatment, you will need to dip a towel in a bowl of hot water, make sure the water is not too hot, lest you burn yourself. Squeeze out the excess water and place the towel on the affected area for a few minutes. Keep repeating this till the water cools. The warm compress therapy should be performed 2-3 times a day till the swelling reduces. Aloe vera gel is considered to be an effective remedy for skin bumps. Apply a thin layer of fresh aloe vera gel on to the concerned area 2-3 times a day, till you begin to notice visible results.

Relief

Warm a few a tablespoon of olive oil and gently massage the warm oil onto the bumps, at bedtime. Olive oil is considered to have a lot of healing properties and it would help in reducing any itching sensation while also soothing the skin. Honey would also serve as a great topical application, due to its anti-septic and soothing properties. Apply a thin film of the thick liquid on to the bumps twice a day. Leave the application on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
