Remedy For Darkened Armpits

Dark armpits and the darkened pubic area are possibly caused due to two reasons – thick hair follicles and dead skin. This area of the body is one that receives the least amount of attention due the simple principle of “out of sight is out of mind.” In fact, most people don’t bother with the pubic areas of the body unless it involves deodorizing the area or shaving it. One of the most important parts of a skin care regime – exfoliation is almost never practiced in the area.

Darkened patches of the armpit and pubic areas need to be analyzed carefully. In the armpit region especially, you need to try and look at the color of the skin. It should match the color of the rest of your skin and this can be confirmed by looking between the areas of hair with a magnifying glass. You should notice that the skin is normal. The reason that it looks dark after hair removal is because the hair in the armpit, as well as in any pubic region, is very tough and coarse – sometimes with two hairs growing out of a single follicle. Therefore, despite shaving, the remaining heads of the hair shaft continue to give a dark shade to the skin. To remedy this situation, you can try and use a cream epilator to remove the hair right from the roots. If this is too irritating for your skin, perform the exact same shaving ritual that men use for their face. The next time that you are going in for a shave, apply some hot water and massage the area as if making sure the water gets into the pores, then apply a shaving cream or lather up a gel and apply it. The next step is to get a razor that men use with a triple blade – for a closer shave. Shave gently and carefully till the hair is gone. After that, shave against the grain of hair. Do this until the skin there is as soft as baby skin. You will notice that the darkening has reduced a lot. This procedure works on any pubic spot.

The next thing to do is to exfoliate. Normally, when shaving, exfoliation happens by default much like a snow plough’s action over a snow covered surface. You can edge this only by rubbing some lemon juice in the area before your next shave to loosen up dead skin and then shaving. Turmeric has many benefits if used on the skin. Make a turmeric paste out of milk cream and turmeric powder. This will clear the dead skin in the area and smoothen it out.
