In the beginning, your running exercise routine should not be performed too vigorously. There are some running tips you could follow to maximize the benefits of running and prevent any injury from incorrect techniques. It is vital that you begin your running exercise routine with some warm-up and stretching exercises for 5 to 10 minutes. If you start running while your muscles are still cold, you could risk injury. It is also important that you take it slow as your start, as your body will have to get adapted to the exercise.

For the first week, you could start by walking for about 30 minutes. Once you can perform the walking without breathing too hard and getting exhausted, you can start adding some running. You could go walking for 4 minutes and run for a minute and repeat it for half an hour. Gradually you should reduce the amount of time you walk and increase the running time until you are running the whole half an hour. Once you get comfortable with the 30 minutes, you can keep adding time till you feel satisfied with the exercise you're getting.

Running exercise helps weight loss when it is performed on a regular basis. You could also add interval training and speed workouts as part of your running exercise plan. This involves running hard for short time periods, which will help burn calories rapidly. Your muscle mass and metabolic rate will also be increased and that will enable more calories to be burnt even after you complete running. Jogging as an exercise is less intense than running and can be used as a warm-up. The number of calories you burn while jogging will depend on the extent, duration and intensity of your workout. It is also essential that you follow a well balanced diet that will provide you the energy required to perform the running exercises, ensuring a healthy and fit body. Make sure you check with your doctor before you begin any kind of work out plan
