Yoga And Pregnancy

Staying fit and being healthy in body and mind is very necessary, especially during pregnancy because along with your wellbeing you are also responsible to the growth of your baby inside you. Aches and pains are common when you are pregnant and most of the time most women prefer of rest instead of moving about. Yoga is a good way to ease the aches and pains that come with pregnancy. Gentle stretches and breathing techniques help assist you towards a smooth pregnancy and a natural child birth. Along with this it makes your body more flexible and helps you to maintain a correct posture while walking and sitting so that you and the child inside you are at ease. Yoga is said to have a holistic approach to your health. Most of the time during pregnancy most women exercise but neglect taking care of their mind and this leads to moods swings and depression. Yoga tones your body and also helps you deal with the stress and the mixed up state of your mind. Yoga exercises will help to tone your pelvic region and ease your reproductive organs in such a way that the fetus gets a constant flow of blood and nutrients. Along with this it would help in easing your body and preparing it for childbirth as also opens your pelvis to speed up your labor and make it easier. Breathing exercises help to ensure that a correct amount of oxygen is reaching you and your baby so that both of you are able to stay fit. It also helps to fight nauseas and the morning sickness by helping you calm down and take things easily. Meditation and relaxation is very necessary for an expectant mother. Dealing with moods, fears and internal conflicts is very vital to be sure that your baby is healthy and well and growing strongly because research suggests that the mental state of the mother has an effect on the growing baby too. Trying some of the yoga meditation and relaxation techniques will help you stay fit in the mind and think and be happy so that your baby will be the same way too. One important benefit of yoga is that incase your baby has turned within the uterus there are exercises which will help to influence the baby’s position. In spite of all these benefits it is most advisable to consult your doctor and get advice as to when to start and stop yoga exercises.
