Aromatherapy could be your loyal companion to survive the nine months of pregnancy; it can help you a lot with the challenges that you may face during this important and crucial period of life. Relaxing through this period and staying away from stress are some of the major requirements for all pregnant women. Lavender oil is known to be of great value in this area.

Mix a few drops of lavender essential oil with 100 ml of a carrier oil and allow the smell to percolate in your room, by using an aromatherapy diffuser or candle. This will induce a calm feeling and provide you with sound sleep. Do not add the oil to a hot bath tub because this is not good for your pregnancy.

Many pregnant women suffer from morning sickness every day. The nausea does not come alone. Most of the time it is accompanied by vomiting and other symptoms that affect the gastrointestinal tract. The best method to deal with a nausea attack is through the use of aromatherapy because taking any medicines that treat this case could be of some danger to your pregnancy, even if it is an over the counter drug. The best aromatherapy mixture for nausea is the combination of lavender, sandal, and fennel essential oils. Using these oils to massage your abdomen is a great idea, and if you do not have time then you can swab the oil under your nose. Do keep in mind not to add too much essential oil because it may irritate your skin. Just add three to four drops to a bottle of carrier oil of your choice and mix well. Massage the mixture on your belly and you will see the difference. If vomiting has become a regular feature during your pregnancy, then inhaling a bit of peppermint essential oil blended with a carrier oil will do the trick. Just remember not to massage the peppermint oil on your abdominal area because it could harm your pregnancy and induce an abortion. Remember that aromatherapy can be of great benefit to you and your baby during this period. Lavender oil, especially, is a loyal companion that will help you with many of the common ailments associated with pregnancy. Lavender essential oil will provide you with better sleep, prevent any morning sickness, and keep your stress levels to a minimum. So head to your nearest aromatherapy retailer and find out how the power of natural essential oils can make your pregnancy more pleasant and painless.
