Essential Oils Uses And Treatment

People are now more aware of the risks and dangers of prolonged or frequent usage of pharmaceutical medicines and they have a greater affinity to accept natural and herbal therapies. One of the most popular natural therapies is aromatherapy. In aromatherapy, the therapist uses some essential oils extracted from different plants. These oils work on both the physiological and mental level and help in defending the body against different ailments.

 

One of the commonly used essential oils is lavender essential oil. This oil is used on a variety of occasions and especially to induce sleep and give a calming effect. Aromatherapy and lavender is now integrated even in baby shampoos. When you enter the supermarket the next time, check out how many shampoos and lotions with lavender and chamomile oils are available.

 

Another famous essential oil is eucalyptus essential oil. It is used widely in spas and clinics as well. In spas, eucalyptus oil can be used for inducing giving an invigorating effect on the mind. It is also a good treatment for sore throats and sinusitis. This miraculous oil can also be used in treating arthritis and bronchitis as well.

 

Aromatherapy can treat different daily ailments that we encounter in daily life. For example, oregano essential oil can be used to treat indigestion and constipation. Such an herbal treatment in synergy with essential oils provides a highly beneficial effect.

 

If you want to try something different and a little bit exotic, you can try ylang ylang essential oil. Ylang ylang is called the flower of flowers. In the beginning it was used as an insect repelling ointment. Now, ylang ylang oil is used for the treatment of palpitation and high blood pressure. It is also used for the treatment of anxiety and alertness. It has a soothing effect and calms the body down. Clary sage essential oil is one of the relatively newly introduced oils. It had been discovered that this oil can be used in a wide range of situations. It may be used for the treatment of coughs. You can put two to three drops of the oil on boiling water to inhale it or you may want to use these drops with a carrier oil to rub it on your chest. Clary sage oil can be also used in the treatment of asthma and flatulence. It can also relieve labor pains and facilitates a natural and painless delivery.
